At the Letter to a Dead Friend-exhibition held at the Fumetto Festival in March 2001, visitors were encouraged to write their own letter to a dead friend. Here is a selection from over 100 letters which were left in a post box at that occasion.


Dear Karsten,
I often think of you (driving my bike) and of the nice tours
which you organized for us all. Your maxim "pedal evenly,
it is less exhausting" which was meant
literally at that time, I try to realize in everyday life,
but I can't seem to manage to. But I keep on trying,
even if it takes strength.
